"Home sweet home” (eng.) A show of acrobatic theater in cooperation with the countries of Eastern Europe.
The show A show set In a orderless and poetic little comer of the world, in a place that could be a garbage dump, where the alleged wastes of our society, both objects and people, meet and try to rebuild a playful sense of the world, from the point of view of the clown. On the notes of Balkan music, piles of garbage are transformed into nationless houses. From decayed bodies, pyramids and jumps that rise upward, aiming to the sky. The suggestions of Kusturica are the aroma and the playground of a show that tells stories of homeless jugglers and comedians, who use their bodies as a language to overcome their limitations.
THE PROJECT Casa dolce casa was born from the successful experience of “Circo della Pace”, a review of social circus made in the small town of Bagnacavallo (Ra), and is part of the project Homeless. The wandering of the circus, which received the enthusiastic support of the European Commission, getting an extraordinary high score in the call for Culture Programme 2007-2013.
THE AUTHORS The authors are Marcello Chiarenza, Alessando Serena and Carlo Cialdo Capelli, who, in the past with Arcipelago Circo Teatro together with the company Pantakin from Venice, created Ombra di Luna, Creature and Tesoro, among the most successful circus-theater shows of the past seasons, invited to important European festivals, big theaters and European and Italian cities for more than 500 shows.
TECHNICAL RIDER Time : 70 minutes
Cast: Eight clowns, acrobats, jugglers from Italy, Romania, Hungary and Poland coming from many different experiences such as theather, street art, social circus, sports.
Characteristics: A show that can be played anywhere: squares, theaters, big tops. A show with a simple technical rider and low cost.
Inspirations: If This Is a Man by Primo Levi, A day of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn, some of Beckett’s texts, such as Waiting for Godot.
